FLOODING AND SEWERAGE ISSUES Felton
Parish Council is requesting that residents inform the Clerk of any flooding or
sewerage/drainage issues that residents are experiencing in the village. The Parish Council has been working with Northumbrian
Water, Northumberland County Council and the Environment Agency to try to pin
point areas that have been experiencing problems. The Parish Council are trying to build up an
overall picture of where there is flooding, blocked drains, foul smells etc,
they are aware of some issues however some are reported direct to the relevant
agency piecemeal which is not showing the overall problem. The Councillors would like to be able to go
to all the relevant agencies with as much detailed information as possible to
enable them to make progress on ensure works are undertaken throughout the
village as opposed to isolated repairs which do not result in an overall
improvement, sometimes just moving the issue elsewhere in the village. If you can email the Clerk with any problems
you have/are having to lisa.hamlin@onetel.com
or phone Lisa on 783495 and the Councillors can look at identifying PARISH PRECEPT At the November meeting the budget was discussed and
approved and the precept will increase by £500 to £14,000 to cover increased
annual costs. RESIGNATION OF SYLVIA HARRISON Sylvia
Harrison has resigned from the Parish Council.
The Councillors agreed to send flowers and a note of thanks to Sylvia
for all her time and hard work as Councillor.
It was also agreed that as the resignation comes so close to the Parish
Council elections in May that the vacancy would not be advertised for cooption
but it is hoped it will be filled in May.
