     NOTICEBOARD

The new village notice board is now in place outside the village shop.  This is for use of residents to advertise        events of interest to the village.  Please note no advertising of businesses to be included in this board.

     WELCOME BOOKLET

Residents will all have received a copy of the Welcome Booklet with their last Bridge magazine and thanks
to all those who help deliver them.  Unfortunately despite numerous checks there is one error and one
omission.  The Village Shop opening hours state 9pm closing – the shop actually closes at 8pm.  Also
there is a pilates class that takes place in the URC Hall on Monday nights 6-7pm and 7-8pm.
     Apologies for these errors.

     PRECEPT

The Parish Council has reviewed the budget for next year. Due to the transfer of services previously
covered by Northumberland County Council and also the NCC costs in preparation for the 2013 elections
the precept has had to be increased this year from £12,000 to £13,500.  The Parish Council has not
undertaken this increase lightly and the precept has not been increased since 2007 due to prudent
accounting by the Parish Council. However, cost increases and the transferred services has left the
Parish Council with no option but to levy an increase for the forthcoming year.

     MOBILE LIBRARY

Northumberland County Council is undertaking a consultation process on the use of the mobile library –
some users have been contacted to fill in a questionnaire however the Parish Council would encourage
everyone who uses the service to made comment to NCC – the consultation runs from 21 November to
the New Year and details can be found at www.northumberland.gov.uk/mobilelibraries.  The budget for
this service has been reduced by £50,000 so we don’t want to lose this valuable service to the community –
please make sure you have your say.

     BIKE TRACK FUNDING

The Parish Council are pleased to announce they have received an Awards for All Grant of £1,450
towards the building of a new bike track.  Along with existing ring fenced money this means that there
are funds available to now start the work.
